Cordless operation: Work without a power cable attached to the handpiece during treatment.

Five modes. Your choice of exposure.

Normal, High Power, Turbo, Pulse and Ramp

Three continuous-output options: P1 Normal delivers 1200 mW/cm², P2 High Power delivers 2000 mW/cm² and P3 Turbo delivers 3000 mW/cm².
Pulse and Ramp: P4 provides intermittent output at 1200 mW/cm²; P5 gradually increases to 1200 mW/cm² before continuing at that output.
Selectable exposure times: Each programme offers its own time options. The light intensity of each mode is preset and cannot be changed.

Broad spectral output and a rotating head

380–515 nm wavelength range: The manual specifies broad spectral output for curing compatible dental resins and composites. Check the restorative material’s light requirements.
360° rotating head: Rotate the light-source head without removing it to help direct the light while keeping the display visible.
Controlled positioning: Aim the light directly at the restoration and follow the material manufacturer’s guidance on distance, exposure time and increment thickness.

Direct charging with a separate handpiece stand

Rechargeable lithium-ion battery: A 3.7 V / 1400 mAh battery powers the handpiece. A full charge takes approximately 3 hours, depending on remaining charge and battery condition.
Direct adapter connection: Connect the original adapter to the charging port at the rear of the handpiece. The supplied base supports the handpiece; charging requires the adapter connection.
Automatic power-off: The device switches off after 120 seconds without operation.
Included protective essentials: A protective light shield and 100 disposable sleeves are supplied. Replace the sleeve after every use.

Choose the exposure for the material: high output does not mean every composite can be cured in 1 second or in a thicker increment. Curing time and depth depend on the material, shade, increment thickness, light position and output. Follow the restorative material manufacturer’s instructions.

CuringPen E FAQ

Are the five modes customisable?

You can select the mode and one of its available exposure times. The light intensity of P1–P5 is preset and cannot be modified. This model does not use the M0, M1 and M2 customisable memories of the CuringPen 4 LED.

Can I cure every composite in 1 second?

No. A 1-second option is available in P2 and P3, but it is suitable only when the material manufacturer’s curing instructions support that exposure. Material type, shade, increment thickness and light positioning affect the required time.

Does CuringPen E have a Detect mode?

The supplied manual lists five modes: Normal, High Power, Turbo, Pulse and Ramp. It does not list a Detect mode.

What is the difference between Pulse and Ramp?

P4 Pulse delivers intermittent output at 1200 mW/cm². P5 Ramp gradually increases output to 1200 mW/cm² and then maintains that level.

Does placing the handpiece in the base charge it?

The adapter’s round connector must plug into the charging port at the rear of the handpiece. The base is a stand and does not replace this connection. Use only the original adapter.

How long does charging take?

The manual lists approximately 3 hours for a full charge, depending on remaining charge and battery condition, and instructs charging for at least 3 hours before first use. Other functions stop when the device enters charging status.

How should it be cleaned between patients?

Discard the disposable sleeve after each use. Clean and disinfect the handpiece, light-source head, base and protective shield according to Section 8 of the manual. Follow the specified disinfection procedure rather than substituting an autoclave cycle.

What protection is required during treatment?

Use the protective light shield and a disposable sleeve as specified in the manual, and wear gloves. Avoid direct light exposure to the eyes or skin. Follow the manual’s heat precautions and allow the required cooling period after repeated high-output use.
