Manufacturer colour range: The clip is illustrated in Air, Sky and Sunrise finishes.
Secure placement: The clip holds the compact locator during patient-side use.

Understanding the readings: the display indicates file progression toward the apex. Distance indications are estimates, not direct canal-length measurements. Confirm working length using the manufacturer’s instructions, radiographs and other appropriate clinical checks.

AirPex FAQ

What does “wireless” mean for AirPex?

AirPex is a compact rechargeable locator with wireless charging. The measuring circuit still uses a lip hook and file clip or touch probe, with extension cords when needed. The charging base connects to a power adapter.

Can I adjust the reference point and display orientation?

Yes. The manual provides seven reference-point selections within the displayed 0–1 range, adjustable sound and a reversible display. Follow the manual when selecting and interpreting the reference point.

Does the display measure canal length directly in millimetres?

No. The manual states that the measured value indicates file progression and that reference distances are estimates. Electronic readings require clinical interpretation and appropriate working-length confirmation.

How long does charging take?

The manual lists approximately 4–5 hours for a full charge, depending on remaining charge and battery condition. Place the unit correctly in the powered charging base and use the specified original adapter.

Can I use AirPex while it is charging?

No. The manufacturer instructs you not to use the device while charging.

Which components must be sterilised?

The file clips, lip hooks, touch probe and extension cords require cleaning, disinfection and sterilisation before first use and after each use according to the manual. Do not autoclave the electronic unit or charging base.

How do I check that AirPex is working?

Perform the short-circuit check before each use and the tester check at the intervals specified in Section 6.2. If the expected indication is not obtained after checking connections, stop using the device and contact your dealer.

Does AirPex replace radiographs?

The manual states that apex-location readings must be combined with radiographs and other methods to determine working length. The device supports the clinician’s assessment.

Are all three clip colours supplied?

No. The kit contains one positioning clip. Air, Sky and Sunrise illustrate the manufacturer’s colour range; the supplied finish depends on the selected option and availability.
